In 1900, Burton Green, along with several partners, purchased the land that became Beverly Hills. Its name came from the founder’s fond memory of the rolling hills of Beverly, Massachusetts. Beverly Hills is located in Los Angeles County, CA and became the home to many Hollywood stars when actor-couple Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford turned a hunting lodge into a mansion. This led to many famous celebrities moving to area and building mansions during the roaring 20s.

Known as a celebrity haunt, The Beverly Hills Hotel is set in tropical gardens, has a poolside café where guests hope to catch a glimpse of a famous movie star, and is also known for the fabulous Polo Lounge. This hotel is also known for hosting many Oscar parties and became the ideal filming location for many Hollywood movies, such as The Way We Were, The American Gigolo, and Beverly Hills Cops, just to name a few.

Beverly Hills today has a population of just 30,000, yet it’s the richest city in the nation with homes averaging around a million dollars and up. Beverly Hills is home to the House of Bijan, which is the world’s most expensive men’s store; Sprinkles, the first 24-hour cupcake ATM; the upscale shopping street of Rodeo Drive; the expansive Beverly Gardens Park with its beautiful fountains and rose gardens; and an illuminated Beverly Hills sign. Another beautiful site to visit is the 1920s Greystone Mansion, which is the backdrop for many Hollywood films. It also has the most famous Zip Code, 90210.
