“Los Angeles” is Spanish for “The Angels.” It was named so by the governor of Spanish California in 1781 when a group of 11 Mexican families settled there. At the time Los Angeles was under Spanish rule, however in 1848 the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildalgo between Spain and the United States, transferred ownership of California and Los Angeles with it, into U.S. hands. Los Angeles was advertised as a beautiful place to let your worries melt away, and of course, it was and still is. Many people migrated from the East to move to the sunny coast of California not only for the beautiful climate, but also for the gold and black gold rushes of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.

Today, Los Angeles still has it’s beautiful sunny climate and a population of around 4 million people soaking up that sun. Los Angeles is home to many attractions, including nearby Hollywood, the star-studded capital of the world. However, you do not have to be famous to enjoy what Los Angeles has to offer. Los Angeles has more museums and theaters than any other U.S. city. Because Los Angeles is also home to more Michelin star restaurants, the fashion district, the Hollywood walk of fame, and so many other attractions, you’ll never want to leave.
